Akebar Charity Dog Show
Saturday 9th August 2025 – from 10am
Join us for our first Charity Dog Show at The Friars Head, Akebar Park. We will be raising money for Saving Yorkshire’s Dogs and hope you and your canine companions can make it!
Classes will include:
1. Waggiest Tail
2. Best Trick
3. Dog Most Like Its Owner
4. Best Rescue Dog
5. Best Fancy Dress
6. Best Young Handler (children under 12 showing the dog)
7. Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home

Entry fee: £2.00 per class with all proceeds going towards Saving Yorkshire’s Dogs.
To be held on the large playing field below The Friars Head (old driving range).

Expect all the hits, big energy, and serious retro vibes. Whether you’re a die-hard Blondie fan or just love a great night out – this is the one.
Sunday Lunch
Every Sunday from 12pm
Join us every week for our renowned Sunday lunch – a true Yorkshire tradition served in our stunning dining spaces. Think succulent roast meats, crispy roasties, giant homemade Yorkshire puddings, and rich gravy… all served in a warm, welcoming setting. Booking is highly recommended – it’s what Sundays were made for!
